Can I apply?
All placements are open to any EU undergraduate, or graduate studying for a further
degree, with a valid EU, EEA or EFTA passport. If you are not an EU citizen you
must be eligible to work in UK or the European Union. Your academic institution
must cover you with a placement agreement for the whole duration of the placement.
What is a placement agreement?
You will be required to provide us and the hosting business with a placement agreement
(convention de stage, Praktikumsvereinbarung, accordo di tirocinio, acuerdo de prαcticas)
before starting your placement. A placement agreement defines your status as a trainee
undertaking a placement as part of studies and states the job description and dates
of the placement. It is signed by you, your university and the hosting business.
Ask your placement officer for a form, most academic institutions have one. Contact
us if they do not have a placement agreement form.
For internships in GREECE, we will provide you with the placement agreement you
would sign and give to your responsible placement teacher to sign as well.
The application process:
Ask for an application form to be sent to your e-mail or sign up directly to our
web site by filling out the on line form which will allow you to get your own user
name and password and apply on line for any suitable placements.
Please don’t forget to choose “Internships/Training program” in your preferences
and upload a CV or one of our Word document Forms.
1. First we screen your application against the requirements and decide your suitability.
If you meet the criteria you will receive a confirmation and invitation for a phone
interview.
2. You will also be informed if your application is unsuccessful.
3. After the preliminary interview your application will be compared with others'
and a short list of the best candidates would be made and forwarded to the hosting
company.
4. The hosting company- Hotel will probably want to interview you and will invite
you to call them for a chat.
The final decision will be made after the interview and you will be informed about
the results.
When will I know if I got the job or not?
The processing time varies. Typically it takes from 4 to 12 weeks depends on the
starting date of the internship, but you will get an answer at least 2 months before
the internship starts.
What information do I get for the company?
Basic information about the hosting company would be advertised on our
web site.
If your application has been successful we will forward more information about the
company, web site and other details.
How much do I get paid?
The payment varies, but typically the allowance is around £400-£500 per month for
the UK placements. The payment is 400 -500 EURO for the Greece and Cyprus placements.
But there is always free accommodation, food + tickets paid by the hosting company.
The remuneration packages are not negotiable under any circumstances! Student grants
may be available; ask your placement officer for more details.
1. The Hotel will pay the students monthly or weekly, depends on mutual agreement.
2. If the Students are required to work additional hours (more then is previously
agreed with the Hotel), the Hotel then will pay for every extra hour engagement
of the Students according to the minimum national wages/per hour in the country
of placement.
What about Food &Accommodation?
The Hotel will supply the Trainee students with at least 2 meals per day and suitable
accommodation within the premises of the hotel. Usually there are 2-3 students sharing
one room.
Who covers my Travel Expenses?
For UK placements:
1. The Hotels will not be responsible for covering the travel expenses of the trainees.
In Globe can intermediate in arranging cheap flights for the students to any Host
Country.
For Greece and Cyprus placements:
2. The Hotel will be responsible for covering the costs for the travel expenses
of the Students, from their Home country to the Hotel. The tickets could be arranged
by the Hotel itself or by In Globe Ltd.
3. The Hotel will deduct the amount of the travel expenses from the first salary
of the trainees-students and keep this amount as a guarantee until the end of their
contract.
4. The deducted amount for the travel expenses would be given as a bonus only to
those students who finish their training as to date specified in their contracts
of training.
What happens if I don’t like the placement?
At least ten days notice is required on both sides( The hotel and The student) in
case when the parties want to terminate the engagement. The students will remain
on their post and perform the everyday duties. They will receive full board and
pocket money regularly within these ten days, until he/she is sent to a new hotel
or replaced by another student.
